All kinds of speculations avo being indulged in concerning the forthcoming Democratic Convention, to bo held there on June 28. Delegates representing Wilsonifin opinion are expected to dominatel the convention, although Mr, W. JBryan and Senator Beed are expected to givo tho President's forces a stiff fight, A two-thirds majority will be needed by the successful aspirant. Mr. Carter Glass and Mr. Batnbridge Colby before leaving Washington for Sari Francisco had individual conferences' with. President Wilson, and it is said that the President gave them drafts of the platform which the President Irishes to hav© adopted by the Democratic Convention. This platform, it is understood, will take a firm stand for the League of Nations without nullifying reservations; hut it does not mention the Irish question or prohibi-tion.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
