Mr. W. Pollock, who for the past 12 months has been organising secretary for the Auckland provincial district of the Returned Soldiers' Association, has been appointed to a similar position by the North Auckland sub-provincial district of the Farmers' Union.

Mr.'T. W. Leys, editor of the Auckland "Star," will leave by the Niagara on June 29 to attend the Empire Press Conference at Ottawa in August,. and afterwards he will -probably visit EngInnd. At tho mooting of the Auckland University College Council on Monday Mr. Leys said that, as 1«b would be absent so' long, he had t'ecided to resign the position of chairman, which he had held for nearly four jwirs.
