Tie newspapers nnnouuce that as a result of the restriction of coal export from Britain, a Middlesbrough firm has purchased 140,000 tons of Australian coal for delivery in Sweden in the second hallf of 1920. The coal is bought in Australia at 225. 6d. per ton, and the freight is 160s. to 1705., and even then it undersells British by 30s. per ton. The firm is negotiating for a further 100,000 tons.— Aus'.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
