A TEACHER'S APPEAL
UPHELD BY TUB COURT. By TelegranJi-Press Association. New Plymouth, June 16. A sitting of the Teachers' Appeal Court was held to-day to hear on appeal by Herbert Victor Searle against his dismissal by the New Plymouth High School Board on the grounds that he created dissatisfaction amongst the teaching staff of tho school, Appellant held the position of third assistant master before going to the war, and tho board promised to keep hiß position open for him. Searle obtained his B.A. Degree at Cambridge University last year, and returned to New Zealand in March last, vhen ho was offered a position as fourth assistant, the board having in the meanwhilo appointed a former junior to Searle os third assistant. Tho Court upheld the appeal, holding that tho board was not justified in summarily dismissing appellant, and ordered that he be reinstated in the position from which he was dismisesd, with salary as from date of his dismissal. MV. F. H. Campbell, of tho Secondary SchoceV Association, appeared for- Searle.
