THE SALVATION ARMY

VISIT OF GENERAL BOOTH. After conducting highly successful gatherings in Ghristchurchand Dunwlin, General Booth will arrive this morning in Wellington, from the south. The* first.'of the Wellington series of meetings will take place to-night, nnd General Booth will be accorded ft public reception in tho Town . Hall on Thursday at 3. p.m., and at night a meeting for young people between the ages of 15 and 2fi years, open to all, will be held in the Taranaki Street Wesley Church. I On Friday the General will bo the guest of .the New Zealand Club at a luncheon in the Y.M.C.A. br.ilding, at 1 p.m. - The same evening a special and private gath. ering of Salvationists will take' place General Booth will Address gatherings of Salvationists and adherents at 3 and 7 p.m. respectively on the Saturday, the meeting'- at 3 p.m. being exclusively for Salvationists.

Officers from all pn.rts of the Dominion will be present in Wellington over - the week-end. and will take part in the congress gatherings to be he.d on the "nilday. At 3 p.m. on Sunday, at tho Town Hall, General Booth will deliver a lecture entitled "Some Lessons of My Father's Life." His Worship the Mn.Vor will preside, apd at night, in the samo building, the final public gathering will take-place,at. fi.3o p.m. On Thursday evening the Genera.! will leave for Auckland, the interim 'being oeciipi-jd with council gatherings , with his officers.

RETURNED SOLDIERS. ■ It is hoped that a large number."of returned soldiers will attend" the reception to be tendered to General Bramwell Booth to-morrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. As will be seen by the advertisement appearing in this issue, His Worship the Mayor has reserved a number of seats for returned soldiors and their friends. 'The returned 'soldier has ever '.Bung the praise of the work of the Sa"v.atiW Army during the war, and this is a golden opportunity to show their appreciation, and the executive of the Wellington Returned. Soldiers" Association appeals to all who can to attend the reception.
