" 4—— * POLICE, OIYIL, AND BY-LAW CASKS. Mr. E. Page, S.M., dealt with the police oases at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Horace Molesworth Searlc was charged with the theft of one overcoat valued at 50s„ the property of Richard James Napior. On the application of Ohief Detective Ward, who said there were ten or twelve other charges pending against tho accused, a remand to Monday was granted.
Convioted of drunkenness, his third offence within a short period, Edmund James Cushion was fined 20s„ in default three days imprisonment.

On a judgment summons Norman Page was ordered to pay the Motor Tyre Repairing Company £48 Os, 6d. by June 29, in default one month's imprisonment: D. Mr, E, Page, 8.M., disposed of the following by-law cases:— For having insufficient light on his motorcycle Horace Dimock was fined 20$ u and ooats 75.; for leaving bis motor-car unattended in Willis Street William iTes was. fined 10s., and costs; Otto Imtz was fined 10s,, and 7s. costs, for driving a motor-car without first obtaining a driver's certificate. For a breach of the sanitary by-laws Mrs. Brockett, 9 Riddlford Street, wai fined 205., and costs 7s. William Wilson. 23 Pirie Street, was charged with failing to remove manure from his stable, with falling to keep his stable clean, and with' ncrmiting fly larvao to accumulate in his stable manure. He pleaded guilty to all charges, and was ordered to pay 7b. coßts, in "respect of the first, and 20s. each on tho other two charges,. VStli costs.
For allowing stock to wpjider Robert Walker, .Tobnsonvile, was finetT 10s. and costs.
Frank Edwin Bormwell, for haying insufficient light- hW motor-car, was ordered to pay costs, 7s.
Edward l'nluuni,' 14 Charlton Avenue, was charged with allowing fly larvae to accumulate in his stable manure, also with failing to keep his stable in. a. state of oleanliness. He was convicted, and fined ,10s., with 7s. costs on the first charge, and was ordered to pay 7b. costs in respect to tho second charge,
