P. AND T. OFFICERS' CONFERENCE
PUBLIC SERVICE CONTROL. The P. and T. Officers' Conference resumed its sifting yesterday morning, and dealt principally with association matters in the ,earlier part of tho day. The matter of Public Service Commissioner control was discussed, and the followingl resolution was carried unanimously :—"That this conference, on. bohalf of (.lie whole scrvice, oppose any movement to bring the P. and T. Depart, ment under the control of the Public Servico Commissioner." Tho resolution is to be forwarded to all members of Parliament.
The outstanding war bonus as promised by Sir Joseph Ward was also considered, and it was decided to bring the matter .boforo the members of Parliament, anil lirgo upon them tho necessity for doing justice to the claims of the service. During the afternoon tho Postal representative on the Appeal Board (Mr. C, G. Camp) Attended the conference by invitation, and gale an address upon matters concerning the Appeal Board. He also replied, to several questions, and was accorded 1 a hearty vote of thanks.
Tho Service representative on the Promotion Board (Mr. .T. Mulvey) was also invited to attend and enlighten tho members of conference on matters relative to tho work of tho board, which ho did, and received the appreciation of those present.
