A LEICESTERSHIRE MURDER CASE

London, June 11. Ronald Light, who was charged with the murder of Annie WrighJ;, has been acquitted—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

F.Ronald Light, 31, an es-officer and a mathematical master at Dean Close School, Cheltenham, was charged with the murder of Annie Bella Wright, a rubber worker, at Little Stretton, near Lei*e"stor, on July 5 ;last. The ohief facta in tha case are:—Miss Wright, a pretty girl of 21, was found in the roadway, shot thtrough tho head, on July 5. According to tho evideneo at the inmiest, she. had oyclod to Gaulby, anotkter village in tho neighbourhood, and was accompanied by a man riding a green bicycle. The man waited for her whilo she called lit her uncle's house, and afterwards rode away with her. In August last Scotland Yard detectives announced that they were anxious to trace a, man who had left a green enamolled bicycle with a Leicester repairer on July 2 and had described himself as a demobilised officer. On February 23 n bargeman on thb canal near Leicester found n portion of a bicyclo hanging to his towrope. This proved to be the front of a frame of a B.S.A. machine, painted green and corresponding to tho description of the one loft to bo repaired. On March 5 Light, who is a native of Leicester and holds tho degree of Bachelor of Science, was charged with the murder and remanded. Later, on different dates, a back wheol, a threespeed gear attachment,, and a revolver holster containing a number of cartridges wore found in the canal near thb spot from which the bicyclo frame was recovered.
