Apologies w'ere received from Lady Stout, Mesdames Line, Hi A. Kirkcaldie, and Chatficld, and. leave of absence was granted to Mrs. A. Hoby. The engagement is announced of Miss Isla Stewart,', daughter of Mrs. Alex. Stewart, 'Masterton, and lato of- the N.Z.4N.5., to Mr. F. It. H. Briec, of Marton.
The engagement is nnnounced of Miss Katie Mackenzie, daughter of Professor H. Mackenzie, to Mr. T. D. H. Hall,-of the' Department of Agriculture, Wellington.

Beamish, 'Mrd son of Mr. and Mrs. G. It. Beamish, «f Wham Whara, ■ (Haw-Ice's Bay). Miss Barbara Gregory was bridesmaid, and Mr, Noel Beamish best man.
The wedding took p'aeo at Rbngotea last Wednesday of Mr.j Duncan M'Dougal, of Bonny Glen, Marton, and Miss Agnes Gilchrist, of Cairn Farm, Scotland. The ceremony was performed by the Eev.'T. Rowe and Misa Ethel Rowo played the "Wedding March." Miss-An-nie Hunt was bridesmaid, and Mr. Jamw Moxham best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of Mr. M. Hunt, of Willow Creek.

Women's' National Reserve. The Women's National Reserve in Auckland is being busy raising money for a residents nursery for the care - of children while their mothers are sick. Their next effort is to be a children s and adults' fancy dress ball on June 24, which was postponed from the end of April owing to influenza. Mrs. Fitcliett (the president) hnd Mrs. Hansard (the organiser) have spared neither time nor energy in preparing for this, and the completeness of their'plans and the many novel and attractive features which will distinguish the function make , success 1 The monthly meeting of the Women's National Reserve Residential Nursery ( Committee was held on Friday afternoon. The matron reported 13 children had been discharged during the month, all in a bright, healthy condition. Eight had been admitted and 22 were booked. Many appreciations had been received from parents and guardians testifying to the care, skill, and loving attention that had been bestowed unon the little inmates.
