HEREFORD BREEDERS' ASSOCIATION
The annual report of the New Zealand Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association states iihat the financial position of the association is excellent. The income for the venr exceeded the expenditure by .£l2O Bs." 9(1.; the amount of accumulated funds of the association at March 31 iast was .£IOO3 10s. lid. Tho number of registered herds stands at 120. During the past year there were several lo.rgc pales of Hereford stud cattle, and at. one of these an Auslralnsinn record was readied in the price realised for a .registered Ml. The last Herd Book published (Volume XXI) contained an entry of Gil bulls and 23.19 cows and heifers. The following volume is now being printed. Entries'arc* now heing received for Volume XXITI. Tine council has had under consideration during the year the question of advertising cattle in over.ww markets, and a sub-committee was set up to speciallv deal with this matter, hut owing to lack'of shipping facilities it had been impossible to make a start with a scheme. However, as soon as space is available, a commencement will be ainde to bring the Herefords of the Dominion to the notice of breeders in Korth and South America.
