At (the monthly meeting of the Feather' ston Borough Council hold on Wednesday jiirrht, the following resolutions were (submitted by Councillor A. C. Holms (Acting-Mayor), and carried unanimously in each instance:—"(l) That this council accords hearty support to tho protest being mado by the Waira.ra.pa Electric Power Board anent the omission of the Wnirarapa area not only its duo proportion of tho Manmhao source of supply, but any share therein, tho fact that tho Wairarapa local bodies have shc.nn Initiative in organising far power distribution, and investigating locai sources of supply, being no justification for the special exclusion of this portion of the province. (2) Tlmt tbo Justica Department be respectfully invited to give «»r!y and favourable consideration to tho suggestion now preferred that tho courthouse he removed to the site of the gaol in Fox Street, making four sections available for building purposes fronting Fitzherbert Street, in this central position of which building sites aro at a premium. (3) That tho Wairarapa Electric Power Board be reonmmended to levy rotes on a combined valuation roll uniformly up-to-date, otherwise an injustico will U perpetuated in the Wairarapa as note the 'hospital and charitable aid rating bqflis," 1
