The Federated Engine-drivers' and Firemen's Association and the electric.ligiht ■ and gacworks employees have sent ail ultimatum to the employers demanding increased wages, stating .that if the de- ' mand is not granted they will cease \rorJc at midnight on Saturday. If the threat is carried into effect it is estimated that 50,000 hands will be rendered idle in i the first week, as factory engine-drivers belong to the association.—Press Assn.
