General Birdwood was welcomed by the Mayor (Mr. Galbraith), Colonel Studliolrae, and Major Orr, and then motored to tho trotting meeting, and witnessed a race. Later, at tho civic reception in town, ho received an enthusiastic greetiiifr from a large crowd. At General Birdwood's request a whole holiday was granted the school children for to-morrow. -After luncheon General Birdwood went south in tho second ex* press. .
