NOT UNREASONABLY HIGH
THE PRICE OF VASELINE. By Telegrapli-Press Association, Hawera, June 8. The charge against Georgo Chrichton Tait, chemist, of making an unreasonable profit by selling a four-cunco pot of vaseline fdr fifteen ponce, was' dismissed, the Magistrate considering tho price not unreasonably high, having regard to several circumstances, and a chemist's professional skill placing him on a different footing from a general storekeeper. Tho Magistrate found that tho profit, taking into consideration tho cost'of replacement, was not mora than" 50 or 551 per cent.! and tho net profit less than 11 per cent. The price was an increase of threepence on the pre-war price. Tho line was a slow-selling one. Defendant had sold a dozen pots only in Gvo months.
