i MEETING 0? NEW ZEALAND i j UNION. 1 The Management Committee of thi , New Zealand Rugby Union met lnsr ■ evening. Mr. G. W. Slade was unani mously elected chairman for the ensu 1 ing year. Other delegates in attend 1 ance were: Messrs, H. Pa ton, R. T i Bailey, J. T. Piki, G. A. Howe, T. H Jones, A. C. Kittc, and S. S. Dean. Arrangements were concluded in con flection, with (ho annual fixture—Nortl v. South Island. The chairman recommended that tho match be played al Wellington, in view of the necessity ol obtaining a good "gate," in order t( tide the union over the Australian trip, on which a loss was expected. Christchurch was the only centre that had 8 prior claim to Wellington, hut in vioY, of tho necessity of bolstering up tht finances it would be unwiso to go outside of Wellington. In order to bring matters to a head Mr. Kitto moved, and Mr. Paton seconded, that the match bo played at Wellington. An amendment was moved by Mr, Piki, and seconded by Mr. Howe, thiil the fixture bo set down for Christchurch. The amendment was defeated, and a further amendment by Mr. Jom< that two matches be played, one al Ohristchurch on June 23 and tho otliei at Wellington on .Tune 2G. was withdrawn on the understanding that ihe question of a second match would be held in abeyance pending the next meeting of the committee. Tho wriginal motion was then carried. The- admission charges were fixed as follow: Admittance,• Is.; stand, 25,; advance bonlcinp, Is. Mr. I).
