BRITAIN AND AMERICA
PLEA FOR MORE EFFECTIVE CO-OPERATION FRIENDLY TRADE RIVALRY By TelcEraph-Press Association-Copyriicht London, May 31. Speaking at a luncheon at the Aldv.ych Club, Lord Heading (recently Special Ajubivssado.r to tho United States), dealing with tho Anglo-Ameri-can relations, said .Americans and Englishmen felt that the co-operation that existed during the war should be continued in peace and become moro effective. Ho was unalterably convinccd that between America and Britain lay the future of the world and tho destiny of mankind. Alluding to the effect of the Irish question upon American opinion, I/>rd Heading said that every British Ambassador to America had to take into account Irish propaganda in tho United States. Americans recognised the difficulties of the situation, and. it would bo n fortunate day for the relations between Britain and America when tho Irish propaganda question was removed from the United States.
Britain and America were going to be rivals in trado and commerce in the future, but friendly rivals. With regard he was sure Britain was not going to expect any remission, but intended to pay in full.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
