The recent decision of a section of university footballers to play the League game ha 6 led to much criticism and severe condemnation in amateur circles. With a view to testing tho position the secretary of the Uaiyorsity League Football Club has sen't circulars to all sporting bodies, asking them to attend a conference to discuss the question of tho amatour status, and tho formation of a wealthier body than the Amateur Sport ing Federation to control sport.—Press Assn.
