WATERSIDE WORKERS' UNION
MONTHLY MEETING. Mr. L. Glover presided over the monthly "stop-work" meeting of the Wellington .Waterside Workers' Union, held yesterday. , The executive recommended that a deputation from tho union should wait upon the Seamen's Union in connection with trie proposed interchange of members, and this was adopted. The shortening of hours for tho engagement of labour was strongly urged, i Tho resignation of Mr. E. E. Brigden from tho position of delegate for tho stevedore section was received.
It was decided to take steps to enforce p'aymont of tines imposed on wmbes for failure to vote on certain occasions;
Tho secretary 'and assistant secretary were each granted an increase of salary of 10s. per week from February i.
