MONTHLY MEETING OP EXECUTIVE.

Messrs. A. Itoberts (chairman), I. Duncau A F. Wiren, Captain Ohmllcy, R. Darrodl [secretary), Mesanincs 0. Earle, J. Darling, Williams, and Miss Laurensoii wore present at "ho monthly meeting of the Wellington branch of the Navy League hold yesterday afternoon. . . . . • A letter was received from a naval man who had come out to Now Zealand for tho benefit of bis health (after tho battlo of Jutland), and who now wished to return to England. The secretary said they had no fund to meet such cases, the chairman thought it would bo opening up a big Question.if they took up such CHSG6. ' Captain Ohudlcy moved that further particulars be secured from Obristchurch, and, if necessary, to consult with tho naval authorities here. The motion was A letter was received from Mr. William Foster expressing appreciation of tho services of tho men members of the Navy League ou tho of the children s demonstration in honour of tho visit of the Prince of Wales.' Messrs. 0. Finch and E. Cook were imdo lifo members of the league. In the course of his' report the secretary said that the branch regretted the loss by death of three of tho leagues most enthusiastic supporters Dr. W. 'Kington PyfTe, Mr. Birch, of Morton, and Mr, 0. R. Smith. Tho lattor was a member of the executive from the time of his arrival in Wellington and both Mr. and Mrs. Smith were untiring in their efforts for the saijors during the war. Sympathy was also expressed with Mrs. Hosting at tho bereavement her daughter had sustained in the loss of her husband. The secretary also referred to tho complete success of the Kenown arrangements, and noted that the committeo was' associated in a cablegram of congratulation sent to Lord Jcllicoe on his appointment as Gov-ernor-General, which all agreed was a splendid one. t Arrangements were made to hold quarterly meetings of the branch, when "coffee, tea and talk" would be dispensed. The members of the Motor-Boat Patrol in Wellington are to bo the guests of tho league at the first gathering, tho arrangements for which were left in tho hands of Captain Chudley.
