INFLUENZA WAVE RECEDING SCHOOLS REOPENING TO-DAY POSITION 6ENERALLY IMPROVING The influenza wave 'substantially receded in the Wellington public health district during the past -week. Ihat the position has raatenallT mP""™ nmyTw Ranged from the fact that actin" on the advice of the District Health Officer (lit. I. E. Faris) the.whole of the public'schools in the Wellington Education Board's district will reopen this morning. «i.„j„For the week ended noon yesterday only G2l cases were notified, a decrease of '525 cases compared with the iigures for the previous week. Of the latest notifications 10 were classed as.severe, 21 as pneumonic, and 593 as mild. During the previous week 2* pneumonic cases were reported. Compared with Eltham s an<l Wanijanm's quotas of six and nye respectively tho number of pneumonic owes-three in all-reported in Wellington" city last week must bo regarded as wry satisfactory. The number of cases of mild influenza in the city also shows a big dcoreasc-238 for the week. The number of cases of pneumonia in the whole district reported during the week just ended was eight, only halt of the preceding week." \They are distributed as follow: Wellington 6, Falmerston North 2.
