ARMENIANS INVADE TARTAR REPUBLIC TREATY OFFERS FROM BOLSHEVIKS (By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Bee. May 31, 8,15 pini.) Simla, May 31. News has been received from tho Caucasus that when tho Bolshevik armies wore descending upon Baku from tho north, a large, well-equipped Armenian force moved against the Tartar Republic, and captured Eliwibothpol, after fierce fighting, Tho Armenians are now astride tho railway, below Tifiis, and moving along it, Another Armenian force is advancing down the Diver Arns, apparently with tho intention of seizing tho district of Karadngh, lying between Persia and the Tartar Republic. This move, which would cut off the Bolsheviks from Persia except by sea, induced tho Pied leaders to approach the Armenians with offers of a treaty—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
