MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided over a sitting of the Magistrate's Court held on Saturday.
Madeline Page was convicted-and fined ss. for being found drunk at the Thorndon Station. Sho was also charged with the' theft of a bottle of whisky value 12s. 6d., and-one out-glass decanter value oE3, the propert' yof Guy Leslie Fulton. She pleaded guilty to tho oharges of theft and was remanded to Tuesday morning in order, that further inquiries might bo made respecting her mode of life. .
Reginald Oliver, who was found sleeping in a.loft at 12.5 a.m. on Saturday in the premises of. Rouse. Black and Son; was charged with being a rogua and a vagabond. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon within a period of twelve months.
For drunkenness Annie Murphy, against whom there were two. previous convictions, waß lined 203., with the alternative of three days' imprisonment, and Michael Gray Higgins, with one previous conviction, was fined 10s,, in default 48 hours' imprisonment.
