Sievera moved; That the New Zealand Rughy Union arrange a national scheme of insurance, for injured players. The. proposal received the endorsement of several sneakers, but it was dreided to forward the motion to the Management Committee for the purpose of Ing up a, detailed report, the scheme evolved to be circulated among unions for 1 consideration before being adopted. Captain T. 11. Jones, lor the Management Committee, proposed tliat the committee be empowered to add to its ni.mhers sn active member of the hew Zealand Referees' Association. Mr. Sievcrs seconded the motion, which was defeated. It was decided that the school grant for the 1920 season bo increased to «CO. Tho Motueka, and Golden Bay ~'in Unions applied for pormision to register as'a separate Rugby Union, to be called the Bays' Union. The Nelson Union wrote supporting' ifle application, which was granted. A proviso was attached that the name of iho now union would liavo. to be approved by the New Zealand Rugby Ui.ron s Management Committee. Permission was also given for tlie affiliation of the Whangarci Husrby Union An application for tho affiliation of a Main Trunk Union, with headquarters at Taihape was referred back for consideration bv 'the various BUb-unionf concerned. Mr Wylie moved: "That the Manngp ment Committee bo directed to inquire a? to whether any union is playing under rules which have not , been unproved bv this union." Mr. Wylio said he was not animated by any feeling of personal animus, but they all knew .that ferlam things were going on, and it was for the Management Committee to take action if the rules of the New Zealand Union were being infringed. One speaker, in supporting tho motion, mentioned that at To Arolia last year, a game ho witnessed was played under "fnir dinkum League rules." Mr N. R -Tones (Auckln-d) denied the Auckland Union was playing any unauthorised rules, (Hear, hear.) . , Mr. Dixon stated that ho was in Auckland last Saturday, and observed that the Rugbv Union rules were not being adhered to in certain particulars. The motion was carried. It was decided to leave the venue of the North v. South Island match m tho hands of the Management Committee.
