ELIJAH
Next Wednesday at the Town Hall Mendelssohn's '"Elijah" will ,bo performed by the Royal Choral Union under tho conductorsliip of Mr. H. Templo AVliyta. Miss Bello Pollard, of Melbourne, and Mr. Walter Wliyte, of Sydney, have besn specially engaged by tho society to sing the soprano and tenor solos respectively. Miss Mabelle Esquilant will undertako tho contralto solos, while Mr. John Prouse will sustain tho baritone vole. Master Tom George, tlio boy soprano, is to sing tho music written for the youth. Tho chorus is said to lie up in its work, and with tho increased numerical strength this performance promises to rival some of tho best yet given bv tho society. The booking is very heavy at tlio Bristol,' but ss. and 3s. seats can still be Tesorved at tho box office. The final rehearsal will bo held at tho Towii Hall on Tuesday next, nt 8 o'olook. _ Only members taking part will bo admitted to the final on Tuesday. Mr. Clement Howe will preside at the grand organ, and tho chorus and orchestra will total 250 performers,
