EMBARGO ON PAPER PULP WOOD
UNITED STATES COMMISSION TO TREAT WITH CANADA. Washington, May 2G. The Foreign Affairs Committee of tho House of Representatives favourably reported on the Bill authorising President Wilson to appoint a commission to treat with Canada on tho subject of the hitter's embargo on print-paper pulp wood. It is expected that the Bill will be shortly .passed. Tho Committee pointed out that Canada's action was virtually forcing American-print-pa-per manufacturers to move into Canada, and emphasised tho fact that, while Canada wis within lier rights -in enforcing tho embargo, which was working hardship in tiie .United-States, Congress could "pass an embargo tin" the exportation of coal, sulphur, and dyes to Canada, which would work 'hardship on Canada.—Aus.-N.S4.
