COLLEGE GOVERNORS
The College Board of Governors met yesterday, the chairman (Sir. W. i< AVilrd) presiding. With regard to eight houses on tn<J College lease in Vivian Street, a report was submitted by the Mayor (Mr. _J. P. Luke) setting out that- an extensive expenditure would he necessary in order to put the buildings in a proper state of repair. The qustion of extending l the building covenant under the lease was considered, and it was decided to for* ward the Mnvor's report-winch had been prepared by the City Engineer and the Health Inspector-to tho lessee, Mrs., Dexton. The resignation of Professor ■Easterfield from the Board of Governors was accepted with regret, nnd a. motion pass-, ed placing on record tho valuable nature of liis services. , Tho Secondary Teachers Association wrote asking'that all vacancies for positions worth more than .£2OO per ycaf. should be advertised throughout tho Do-: minion. The letter was received, Wra chairman stating that that was already, tho practice of the board.
