GENERAL DYER'S RESIGNATION. (Rec. May 7, 11.30 p.m.) London, May 26. Tho Secretary of State for India, in a dispatch to the Viceroy, Lord Chelmsford, traversing Lord Hunter's roport on the Amrilsar case, says that whilo admitting General Dyer's honesty of purpose, he finds his conception of duly ?o fundamentally at variance with what tho Govornmont lias a right to expect from its officers that the Government approves of General Dyer's resignation.— Aus.-N.Z.
