The yarding una of 'ordinnry ' quality, no cattlo of special merit being sent forward, as is usually the en*; nt the sale preceding show week, and prices were on a par with late rates. Prime bullocks made from Ml to .1:2-1 2s. (id., medium £18 to £% light .815 10s. to J617 10s. Store Cattle.—A inil uarket with good competition. There' were sevtral pens of better quality than has been seen fir some weeks. A largo number of veal calves sold well, :.lso several pens of four to live-year-old bullocks, with u good showing of condition. Prices were about 7s. lid. above, late market rates. I'nt Sheop.-4.500 were raided, the quality on the whole being of higher standard than recent yardings. As the congested condition of the local freezing works will bn immediately relieved by shipments, freezing buyers were active competitors, this resulting in prices being well maintained. Prime sheep were Is. per head dearer, while secondary anil inferior sheep were in many case* u stflde easier than the prices ruling a fortnight ago. Extra pi'iinc henvy-weignt wethers brought 625. fid. to 735., v primo 48a. to 605., medium 355. to 165., light and unfinished from 28s. up. extra prime heavyweight ewes to Ms., prime Ms. to ffo., medium 33a. to 385., light and aged from 255. up. " , , , . , Lambs—l 433 wore yarded, of mixed quality, including a few lots of extra special. Those latter sold under keen competition, freezing operators actively buying at prices in advance of late rates. Prime heavy-weight lambs 50s. to 575., prime lanvbs 28s. to 4fls., medium 2-ts. to 275.,' lighter kinds from 18s. up. Pigs-There was a good yarding of nigs and good competition, bncoii-enrcrs being well represented. All good quality animals sold readily and m-iccs were on a par with Into ruling rates.
