Tho farmers of the Waimarino consider that they are very much handicapped owing to the lateness of . the season- in getting freezing works to. handle their fat stock, and they coneider that the time has now arrived when, in thoir own interests, they should Live their own freezer. To further the scheme several meetings have been held lately, and overtures were made on behalf of Taihape, tho idea being that the" Rangitikci works could meet tlia, requirements of Waimarino Producers in Waimarino, however, feel confident ot success if they had their own works, and at a recent meeting held at Haetihi it was decided that works be erected at an approximate cost of .£7O 000. It was further decided that .foO.flOfl be subscribed before any work of erection is commenced, and that no subscriber will be committed until tho .£50,000 is subscribed. The committee appointed to go into the matter is activelv engaged canvassing the district, and hopes are entertained that sufficient capital and stock will bo offercd to permit the scheme to be advauoed to tho stage of materialisation- ■ ' ' ;„,
