Tho final batch of New Zealand members of the ltoyttr Air Force returned to New Zealand by' the lonic. They were Captaiji P. Fowler, of FeiUHng: Captain M. Buckley, of Fairlie; Lifiut. G. Rood, Mnsterfon; Lieut. C. IT.. Noble-Camp-bell, Napier; Lieut. Clarence. Umbel*; Dmiedin; Lieut. C. Dolling Smith, of England; Lieut. H. Smith, of Pahiatun: and Lady Administrator Shortridge, of the Women's Royal Air Force. Flight-Lieut. C. Dolling-Smith, of England, who arrived in AuckUnd from England a few days ago, was one of Bug-, land's pioneer airmen in tho lale war. His flying career in Fnn:e commenced in WW, and for a long time he was successful, but eventually engine trouble forced him to descend witMn the enemy' 3 lines, and he was taken a prisoner, and remained in various prisons in Germany for three years. Liont. Dolling-Sniith has a sister living at TTokianga. Mr. Will Lawson left.by the Pateenn yesterday for Blenheim, -.There he will take, up the duties of publicity organiser for the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce for some months to come. The death occurred this week of Mr. James Bringins, one of tiie best-known members of the shipwrights' branch of tho Wellington Waterside Workers' Union. Mr. Bringins, whk> eaino to Wellington 38 years ago, was in the employ of Messrs. Coifey and Dixon, Clyde Quay, for many years, and subsequently was in business as a boatbuilder on his own account iu Balena Tiny. During the epidemic of 1918 he became very ill and nevor recovered his health.
