RETURNED SOLDIERS
REMITS FOE TJIE CONFIDENCE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 25. The Auckland branch of tho Returned Soldiers' Association carried a numberof remits to-night for submission to the annual conference. The most interesting of these was.one urging that tho attention of the Government be drawn to tho large influx of Hindus and Chinese, that it be requested to introduce legislation during the coming session to restrict such immigration, and that all associations throughout New Zealand be requested to convene public meetings in their districts prior to tho meeting of Parliament to protest against tho unrestricted influx of Hindus and Chinese. Other remits advocated increased allowances to subsidised workers to bring their wag.es to at least JG3 10s. for single and .J&Jot married men, and increased pensions. Another remit expressed indignation and alarm at the temporary stoppage of- thfc Discharged Soldiers' Settlement, Act.
