WHEAT PROSPECTS
SOWINGS LARGER FOR NEXT CROP.
Mr Mnssey made some inquiries in the South Island about the wheat prospects for next harvest. "People who know told did that there 'was a very satisfactory increase in tho areas intended to ba sown with wheat during the coming seaeon," said Mr. Massey yesterday. As to the results of last harvest I mpwc to be in a postnon to say defin \tely where we are in the course of a little while. The thrashing season is praoticftllv over, so that we should have exact information as to the yield very soon. Earlier in the season I was informed that the yield further, south had not been so good, but I have no recent mformation."
