SOUTH AFRICAN VETERANS
BENEFITS OF D.S.S. ACT WANTED. By TclccraDh.—Press Association Wanganui, May 'A. Messrs. Veitch and Glenn, M.P.'s, were waited on to-day by a big deputation from the South African Veterans' Association, which asked their assistance „ln having the benefits of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act extended to the veterans of the Boer War. It was stated that the Prime Minister had given a .promise in the House of Representatives that this would be done when all the returned soldiers had been dealt with. The deputation pointed out that the South Africans had already waited twenty years, and the matter should be dealt with without further delay. The members gave a sympathetic hearing and promised ' every assistance in their power.
It is understood that similar representations will be made bv the South African Association in other parts of the Dominion.
