A promise that an endeavour wouldl lie made to have 'certain restrictions' lifted 60 as to permit the export of .potatoes to Australia was made to-dny to a deputation 1)Y Mr. Jit'Donnld. representing the Board of Trade. Mr. M'Donald stated that ho would recommend the Minister of Customs to permit of the embargo on the export of potatoes being lifted for a period of two months. Mr. M Dona.d also made a promise regarding the embaruo on the importation of potatoes into the Commonwealth that he would make inciuiries and representations, with a view to the restrictions being lifted if such were possible.
