ELECTIONS IN GERMANY
«- — RETROGRADE TENDENCY RE- ■ • vealed. ? Berlin, May 19. The Landtag elections in Brunswick' and Mecklenburg-Strelitz and the' Constituent Assembly election in Danzig reveal a retrograde tendenay. Many "plural" 'Socialists have gone over to the Independents, while a great many , Democrats 'have joined the Conservatives. T'»e German Popular Party in Danzig secured 84 seats, the Majority Socialists 19, tho Independents 21, and the Poles seven. The elections fairly indicate the possible trend of the Reichstag elections.— Aiis.-N,Z. Cablo Assn.
