MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS.
The Management Committee of the.Wellington Kugbljr Union met last evening. Mr. W. F. Hornig presided, and there wero present: Meßsrß. A. J. Griffiths, J. Piki, G. Jackson. J. Prendevillc, H. Buck, Ji. Perry, and ~W. W. Cook. _ ! The Hutt Club is to be informed, that the union has no power to stop a, senior player of last year playing junior this Reason. The player in question, who represented the South Island last season, played for Athletic juniors against Butt. The Referees' Association wrote asking what steps the committee intended to take to protect refereeß from; another.outbreak of hoodlumism aa, witnessed at Atliletia Park last Saturday, when the crowd took ohargo of the ground and there was ft moßfc unpleasant ccene.—'Several members were of opinion that the committee had dono all that was in its power, but, one member spoke strongly on the question, ho.' thinking that the arrangementß at the Park for dealing, with a, boisterous crowd were lax. The committee decided'to writo to the Referees Association expressing rqgrct to Mr. fceilson over last Saturday's occurrence, also Informing the association that the ponce are to be aßked lor assistance, and thai notices dealing with trespassing are to be posted up in prominent positions on the discussion took place regarding tffe appointment of relerees by mutual agreement between the two teams cpnccrnea. Perry, Piki. and the secretary. waß set up to bring down a report on tho m A letter was received"from the Auckland ■union asking for a representative team to be sent to Auckland next month or early in July.—lt was decided to reply stating that tlie matter woulcl receive consideration when tho .representative tour ivaa drawn up. ■ ' The Poneke Club was granted permission to withdraw from the third-class competftion. , From now until further notice gameß are to commeuco at 2.45 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. . . .
