Mr. P. C. Freeth, the local member of tho Waneanui Education Board, at the invitation of the Longbuvn School Committee, visited the public school there. Be found that the building had long outlived its usefulness, and many of the boards on .the walls were in such a state of decay that a gentleman who was present had no difficulty in tearing them out with his hands. As a result of tho visit urgent representations are to be made to the Education Board to supply a new 6chool. ' The Manawatu Industrial Union of Flaxworkers has decided to link np with ikn New Zealand AYorkors' Union. Tiho manager of the Newbury Dairy Company, Pahnerston North, has receiv.
