Rnrison, the 'president, .snid it was a matter of coni gratulation that the club'had again won the Senior Pennants. .This was the fifth consecutive win for the club, and the eleventh since the inception'of the competition.. A Newtown rink consisting of - G. Prince. A: Manning, A. .Pergusson, and W. Wylie (skipV had succeeded in winning tho Manawatu .Centre Tournament. The Junior Pennant rjnk woro the runners-up in their compe'tition. "The Winners of the Manawatu Bowl-! ,'■ ifife: Contre .Tournament". was proposed ' bv Mr. A. Priddle, and in. the absence ; of the members of the rink. Mr. G. Barker responded on their behalf.. JKindrcd Sports" was, proposed by Mr. G. Noble. Messrs. A." J. Pollock (football), J. Russell (cTicket), and W. J. Robbins \ (chess) responding. Mr. J. A. Laughton toasted "The Wellington Centre." He was applauded when he stated that the accumulated funds of this body should be spent in experimenting, to procure the' • most suitable grasses for the greens. Mr. H. Ranson proposed .'"Tho , Game' of Bowls." "The Ladies" was proposed by Mr. F. Robbins, who said it was tho Intention of the Entertainment Commit, tee to. hold/'a,-"'series of ."socials"' this winter. Miisical, and other items were contributed. by Messrs. C. Haig. W Thompson, W. J.. Robbing P. Martin. W. Pyke, and J. A. Laughton. Mr. H. Blick was at the piano... .'
