1 NEW PLANS FOR COPING WITH IT GARRISON TO BE LARGELY INCREASED (By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. May IC, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 14. It is reported in Dublin that Sir Nevil Macready's neiv plana to' cope with lawlessness will be based on Kitchener's methods of dealing with the guerilla tactics in tho Boer war, including a network of blockhouses manned by troops equipped with machine-guns. The report is not confirmed. Perhaps it has arisen through the announcement that tho police will be afforded military protection on a wide scale. Sir Nevil Macready has announced that the Cabinet has agreed to largely increase the garrison in Ireland, and these reinforcements will proceed there imn.E-dictely.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SENSATIONAL -REPORT DENIED. London, May 14. Tho ."Evening News" states that an official denial is given to the. sensational report from Dublin that Sir Nevil Macready's plans include the establishment of hundreds of blockhouses, strongly garrisoned, and implying that a virtual reeonqucst of Ireland is intended. DESTRUCTI9N oTpQLICE BARRACKSHAN'.: GOVERNMENT OFFICES ATTACKED. (Rec. May IG, 5.5 p.m.) London, May 15. A Dublin Castle bulletin states that fifty Irish police barracks were destroyed on the night of May 12, and over twcntr incomo tax offices were attacked and books and documents seized. Several courthouses wero also attacked. Eighteen further, police barracks and five income tax > offices were destroyed by' fire on May 14, explosives being: used. The Maynooth Town Hall was amongst tluse destroyed on May 14.—Imperial New? Service. London, May 14. A party of armed men surrounded Cashcl Courthouse, saturated tho building witn petrol and set it on fire, completely destroying the premises.
