For the purpose of giving organised Labour an opportunity to learn, "tho facts" about the 6trike of jockeys at Avondale, a meeting wns held in tho Trades Hall' to-night. There was a fairly good attendance, which wns presided over by Mr. I'\ Hobson, president of the Cnnterbury Trades nnd Labour Council. ITie meeting was nddresned by Messrs. C. C. Sheath (secretary of the Jockeys' Association), H. Davics (South Island representative on the Jockeys' Association), E. J. Howard, J. M'Combs, and D. G. Sullivan, M.P.'s. Tho meeting endorsed the resolutions recently carriedby the Auckland unions, and also decided to ask the local members of Parliament to urge the Minister of Internnl Affnirs to suspend the issue of tcMisntor permits till the dispute is settled, and tho suspended jockcys reinstated.
