Present indications are tor variable winds, strom; south-easterlies prevailing northward of Farewell Spit and Kailtoura, and freshening northerlies' elsewhere soon. Weather cold and squally, with heavy showers, especially in the northern and Eaf.t Coast districts, and snow on higher levels. Barometer unsteady, with a tendency to rise in the north, but to. tall shortly in the south., A cyclonic disturbance is still centred "■north of Auckland, and dull and cold weather has prevailed, with considerable rain, particularly in the northern and East Coast districts.
