Tip Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Express" interviewed Dr. Wirth, tfho said: "Germany bases her main hopes of industrial recovery on the forthcoming Spa Conference. It is esssntial Hliat the Allies Bhould. remove the uncertainty regarding the amount of reparation payable by Germany, 'l'hey must fix a sum Germany can pay. It is impossible _ to hope for the recovery of German industry while the sword of Damocles is held over Germany's head. Europe's reconstruction depends on' tho Allies." In regard to their claims Dr. Wirth admits that the Allies can forco Germany to accept any terms, but it would require an army ift occupation of two million men to force unwilling Germany to work.—Aus..N.Z, Cable Assn.
