The Liberal (Featherston) 6enior footbail team sustained defeat nt Masterton by 16 points to 6, and the Liberal II team by 9 points to 3 at Featherston by Pukio. The first meeting of tho Wairarapa Hydro-Electric Power Board was held on Saturday afternoon at Carterton. The board comprises all the boroughs and counties from Masterton to llartinborough. Mr. J. G.' Cooper was elected chairman, and was granted six monjis' leave of absence on account of his approaching departure for England. Mr. T, V. Moore was appointed deputy-chair-man. Mr. Toogood, engineer, reported ■that tho scheme laid before tho Investigation Committee by Mr. Cook was tho best development for hydro-electrio purposes that could be obtained. The estimated cost ol tho scheme was <£130,000. Tho Waiohiuo sohemo is capable of supplying 2000 k.v.a. Messrs. Templin and Toogood wero appointed engineers to the board, and 'Mr. P. H. Smith secretary, and Messrs. Ilart and Hogg solicitors. It was decided to mako no alteration in tho arrangement for offices pendirj the success of tho sohemc. The engineers were authorised to proceed with further preliminary work. It was decided to make arrangements for an overdraft of .€3OOO ( for preliminary and administrative expenses. It was decided that tho framing of by-laws be held in abeytmco for the time boing, and to endeavour to procure copies of the by-laws of other boards. Tho secretary was instructed to proourc designs for a common seal. TJie chairman was authorised to interview Mi'. Parry while at Homo in regard to machinery, and'mako inquiries in reference to loaais. The meeting concluded- bj wishing Mr. Coopor bon voyngo and ;i safo returii. A representative moeting of dologatof representing tho dairy companies of the North and South Wairarapa was held al Carterton on Saturday, when matters af fecting tho disposal of produce at Honw was considered at length.
