GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET
By Telegraph—Prces Association, Christchurch, Hay 7. T.io grain and produce market continues exceptionally quiet. A grade Gartons remain firm at up to ss. at country stations. Several lines of oats have changed hands during the last few days, but the business lias been mostly between merchants. Prices to farmers have not altered. The inquiry for nnts is considerably better than, it has been for some time, and the oat market is decidedly firm. The tone of tlio potato market remains weak. Owing to the prevailing shipping difficulties, growers have been unable to obtain their set price of £1 10s., and there is plenty offering at up to £i ss, There has been no, alteration in the prices for barley, of which not much has been offering during the week. Chaff remams firm at recent quotations.
