Oarroll. The cows offered were in poor condition, but found a ready market. Djilget.y and Co, Ltd.. ]>vin and On,, Ltd.. and the Nejw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held a v«\y successful clearing sale cf sheen, imp'.o'ientß and sundries on account, of Mr. D. Buchanan. "To Whantra," last week. There was a large attendance, and the stock, which came forward in rood condition, met with keen competition. The cattle were sold in the Masterton saleyarde on the previous Tuesday, and, considering the state of the market at. present, realised satisfactory prices. Following are the prices realised:—Two-tooth ■wethers, 325. Sd.; cull 2-tooths, 235.; b.f. >?.-tooths, 295. 6d.; 2-tooth owes, ISz. 6d., 30s. 3d., to 345. 3d.; 3-tooth ewes, 345. 6d,; 6-tooth ewes. 28s. to 345. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report havinqr held their weekly stock 6ale in the Colombo Road yards, Masterton, last week, when they offered a fair yarding of sheep and cattle to a fair attendance. The weather was very wintry, and prices were not quite up to late rates. Following are the prices realised Woolly lambs, 16s. Id. to 235.; empty ewes. 255. 6d.: cows and calves, £6 ss. to £9 4b. ; empty forward cows, £8; 3-year steers, £9; weancr baiters, £2; yearling heifcrß, £3 ISa.: 2-year heifers, £6 2s. <d.; dairy heifers, in calf, '£8 10s.
