WATERSIDERS' STOP-WORK MEETING
The monthly meeting o£ the Wellington Watersido Workers' Union was held on Tuesday. Mr. L. Glover presided.
A letter was recoived from the Transport Workers' Advisory Board with l'c,l.ird to tlio bstwecn the two sections of the railway workers. A resolution to the effect that tho Waterside Workers' Union viewed with alarm the.attitude of tho E.F.C. Association in refusing to co-operate with the remainder of tlio transport workors with tho object of coming lo a settlement of the dispute was passed. Approval was expressed of the attitude of tho A.S.R.S., who desired joint representation for tlio purpose of obtaining a settlement. . Tlio meeting decided not to work tho "bell" grab on two cranes on the Bailway Wharf on account of their liability to slip. A report was received in respect to responsibility should an accident occur through ship's gear becoming shackled together, shipowners aro to bo approached to determine where tlio responsibility would lie.
