SPECULATION IN FOOD
PREVENTIVE LEGISLATION IN SOUTH AFRICA. Cape Town, May 4. Tho Government Bill to prevent speculation in foodstuffs provides for tho licensing of dealers and brokers in foodstuffs. Dealers will not bo allowed to bo brokers, and vice versa; and no contract for the sale of foodstuffs at a future date will be valid for longer than pinety days.—Aus.-N.Z. Oablo Assn.
