MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
The Wellington Miniature Rifle Association opened its season's shooting with a oontest for the Osmond .Shield, fired for durinc the week ending May 1. The for. the shield is open to all clubs affiliated to ■ the association, »«d ended in a win for the Brooklyn team. The following wore the scores:—Brooklyn, 078; Wellington KasN 677; Vollinytoii South, No. 1, 669; Railways, No. 1, 660; l'etonc Ladies, 646; Wellington South, No. 2, 6«; Railways, No. 2, 642; Petono Working Men's Olub, 616. The usual inter-club contests under tho auspices of (lie association will commence at an early date.
