RESTRICTIONS ON SALE OF STATE COAL
PROTESTED AGAINST BY MINERS. By Telegraph—Profs ABFociation. Greymouth, May 3. The coal shortage was discussed tonight at a meeting of the State Coal Miners' Union Executive,- and the following resolution was passed:—"That in reference to the further request conveyed to the Government by Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P., for removal of the embargo on the disposal of State coal in order to permit the public to purchase direct from the State Department, wo urgo that the same be given effect, as recently the State mines were idlo for two days while the public wero refused coal .except through agents; and, further, that it satisfactory arrangements are not made regarding same, a.special meeting of this union shall be called to discuss further action."
