The report of the Public Health Department on last year's influenza epidemic shows the percentage of deaths of thos ■ attacked to have been 1.3. Early treatment aud confinement to bed and absolute rest were the most potent factors in combating the disease. Amongst preventive measures inoculation wae the most valuable n&d mitigated tho progress of the disease to a large extent. Amongst thoso inoculated three times the mortality at. the hospitals was just one-half that of those who were not inoculated. Those inoculated once or twice benefited, but not to the 6ame extent.—Press Assn.
