Early treatment aud confinement to bed and absolute rest were the most potent factors in combating the disease. Amongst preventive measures inoculation wae the most valuable n&d mitigated tho progress of the disease to a large extent. Amongst thoso inoculated three times the mortality at. the hospitals was just one-half that of those who were not inoculated. Those inoculated once or twice benefited, but not to the 6ame extent.—Press Assn.
